Vinnie Jones and Try Star became the latest two celebrities to be eliminated from The X Factor: Celebrity with just one week until the grand final.
The final six acts took to the stage to battle it out for the right to advance to the final next week and win over the voting public.
Following the six performances and a guest performance from Louis Tomlinson, host Dermot O’Leary returned to deliver the results. He revealed Jenny Ryan, Megan McKenna, and Max and Harvey had advanced to the final, leaving Vinnie Jones, Try Star, and V5 in the bottom three. Dermot announced that Vinnie had gotten the least number of votes and was instantly eliminated.
“You’ve really helped me with my personal life bringing me onto this show, and I’ll always be in debt to you,” Vinnie told head judge and show boss Simon Cowell.
It was then time for the sing-off. Try Star performed Hold Me While You Wait, while V5 sang a Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma” in a mash-up with Beyonce’s “End of Time”. After both had performed, it was up to the judges to decide who to save.
Simon and Nicole Scherzinger both voted to send home Try Star, eliminating the boy band from the competition.
“As long as we go out and give it 110% every time,” Ben said. “We left on The Greatest Showman, we finally got to sing Lewis Capaldi, which we were delighted about. We loved every second and we don’t have any regrets.”
The X Factor: Celebrity airs its grand final next Saturday at 7:20 pm on ITV.
