The winner of The Voice UK 2017 will NOT release a winner’s single or perform one on the live final.
Instead, the winning act will put out an entire EP in just a few weeks’ time!
The talent show will see a shift in the way the winner releases new music off the back of the lack of success of any BBC winners of the show.
Bosses are determined to change the fortunes of the show with a big winner… who can go on to sell music.
This year’s series will not have an official winner’s single, instead, they will immediately begin working on an EP, to be released a matter of weeks after Sunday’s final.
ITV will also be airing a ‘Winner’s Story’ special, broadcast around the same time the EP is made available to purchase.
In the past, acts have struggled to make any success off the back of the series.
Series 2’s Andrea Begley’s debut ‘The Message’ reached number 7, the highest peak for any winner.
Into The Ark, Jamie Miller, and Mo Adeniran are all hoping to win a record contract with Polydor.
The Voice UK finale airs tonight at 7pm on ITV.
