Emily Middlemas will be looking to advance to The X Factor semifinals this evening, but did she rip off another performance in the process?
The Scottish singer sang a acoustic ukulele version of Britney Spears’ Toxic as part of ‘Louis Loves’ week for this weekends quarterfinals. However, fans quickly took to social media to say she ripped off Voice USA contestant Melanie Martinez.
Martinez appeared on The Voice USA in 2012 and her performance of the Spears hit got coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green to turn around. She ended up on Adam’s team and was eliminated during live shows.
Emily said she was doing 'her original twist' on toxic. but it's basically the exact same as Melanie Martinez's toxic cover! smh #XFactor
