Third place X Factor runners up 5 After Midnight have reportedly signed to Simon Cowell’s record label SYCO.
The trio, who are made up of Kieran Alleyne, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee finished third in the X Factor final last weekend, but it looks like the placing hasn’t pipped their chances of a huge career.
A source told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: “The boys are overjoyed and can’t believe they are signing to Syco. Simon has been a big fan of 5 After Midnight throughout the series.”
The paper is claiming Simon couldn’t miss the opportunity to sign the trio.
The insider added: “Out of all the artists he thinks 5AM have the biggest gap in the market to play with.
There are very few boybands around at the moment and even fewer urban boybands who dance.”
The news follows winner Matt Terry NOT being signed to SYCO, instead going to RCA Records.
It’s good news for all three finalists too with runner up Saara in talks to sign a deal with a “major label”.
A source said: “This week has been a whirlwind for Saara – the interest has been overwhelming in her and she’s close to inking a big record deal with a major label.”
The X Factor returns to ITV in 2017.
