Two acts left The X Factor tonight, after it was revealed Brooks Way would NOT be returning to the competition after being pulled from Saturday night’s episode for ‘personal issues’.
The boys weren’t the only ones to leave however, with Bratavio also getting the chop after the public vote.
It was confirmed just before tonight’s results show on ITV that the pair would NOT be returning after they did not perform last night due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.
According to the Daily Star, the pair ‘lashed out’ after being told of the news.
“They are so annoyed, this was their big chance of stardom,” an insider told the newspaper.
“Their gran also claimed X Factor were in the wrong. she even tried to get them to put Kyle as a solo artist if Josh was being axed.”
Once lines closed in this evening’s results show, the bottom three were revealed, when a new twist was introduced.
Host Dermot O’Leary revealed the names of the safe singers before announcing that Saara Aalto, Bratavio and Freddy Parker had the fewest votes (in no particular order).
The three acts then faced the new app voting in which fans had 5 minutes to vote to save one of them in a free poll on the official X Factor app.
With the most votes in the so-called ‘life line vote’, Freddy was saved and went through to next week.
Next up was the sing off, with Saara and Bratavio both performing for their place in the competition.
Saara went first, singing Sia’s Alive. Bratavio followed with Yazz’s The Only Way Is UP, and then it was down to the judges to deicde.
Louis Walsh backed his own act, sending Saara home, whilst Sharon Osbourne similarly backed her own act, sending Bratavio home.
Nicole Scherzinger also sent Bratavio home, saying: “That song is so difficult and you sang our faces off.”
With the casting vote, Simon Cowell said: “That was probably the craziest 5 minutes I’ve ever been through. If this was a horse race it was like a guinea pig versus a race horse, the act I’m obviously sending home is Bratavio.”
With three of the judges votes to one, Bratavio went home.
The X Factor 2016 continues next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV at 8pm.
