The X Factor 2017 judging panel is set and it won’t look any different from last year.
Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger, and Simon Cowell will all return, marking the first time the judging panel has stayed the same since 2009.
Nicole was the winning judge last year as Matt Terry took home the crown and Sharon’s act Sara Aalto made it to the final two. Simon is reportedly happy with the chemistry the panel had and was keen for them all to return again.
“The chemistry was perfect last year, so it’s only natural to want to bring the same line-up together again,” a source told The Sun. “It’s usually hard to get people’s schedules to align but for the first year it has worked out. The judges can’t wait to get started and have already been gossiping behind the scenes.”
Dermot O’Leary is also returning to front the series for the second consecutive year after being replaced by Olly Murs and Caroline Flack in 2015.
The last time the panel remained the same was in 2009 when Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue joined Louis and Simon on the show. The four would go on to judge the following year in 2010.
Reports also suggest that show bosses will be revamping the show with an audience backstage at the audition rounds of the show.
The X Factor returns to ITV in the autumn.
