Former X Factor star Casey Johnson is reportedly signing up for a new dating show on MTV.
The Stereo Kicks singer appeared on The X Factor, before leaving the group and joining Union J as George Shelley’s replacement, before he was then also axed from that band.
MTV are working on a brand new dating format, which could see an international twist and date fans from their social following.
A source told the Daily Star “He’s used to having girls fawn after his time on The X Factor and being in a boy band,”.
MTV were apparently keen to sign the young star up after he split from his fellow X Factor contestant Betsy-Blue English, who was a member of Only The Young.
A source told The Sun: “Casey is keen to pursue more television work while Betsy has been spending a lot of time in the recording studio in LA.
“She’s been getting a lot of attention from American fans but has chosen to stay single in order to focus on her music career.”
The new MTV show will see reality stars date a number of potential suitors from their social media following, and could travel all over the world to meet them.
There could also be a Big Brother twist, with the potential couples all living in a house together for a week.
According to The Sun, other stars who have signed up for the series include Celebrity Big Brother’s Farrah Abraham and Geordie Shore’s Scotty T, Marnie Simpson and Chloe Ferry.
“They will use their social media accounts as their own dating agent, and offer out dates to their fans.” a source revealed.
“Any of their followers, anywhere in the world, will be able to potentially go on a date with them.
“They could end up dating any of their fans- but that means they will have to be single.”
