The X Factor has axed a twist that would have seen FOUR acts leave the competition, it has been confirmed.
The Sun reports that show boss Simon Cowell thinks the viewers would be missing out on the talent if too many acts left the competition in such a drastic manner. Instead, we may see a new twist ahead of the live shows in 24 hours time.
A source told the publication: “There is some great talent on the show this year. Simon thinks it’s unfair to cut the numbers so drastically when contestants are doing so well.”
At the end of last Sunday’s show, host Dermot O’Leary announced that a double elimination would take place on both night’s, seeing four acts go in total.
The reports were confirmed by the show when an ITV spokesperson said: “This weekend’s show will feature one act leaving on Saturday and one act leaving on Sunday.”
The X Factor continues this weekend with a tribute to George Michael on ITV.
