Ex-X Factor contestant Luke Friend has become the latest X Factor star to be dropped by his record label.
The singer came in third place on the show in 2013 and was signed by Sony label RCA Records shortly after.
However, his debut single was put back, and then pushed back further, until it got released this year, with Hole In My Heart peaking at number 40 back in April.
According to The Sun, whilst Luke is technically still signed he won’t be releasing any music.
“Sadly it is now just a case of waiting until his contract ends,” a source told the tabloid.
However, winning The X Factor isn’t everything, with Luke lasting longer than winner Sam Bailey, who was dropped by Simon Cowell just one year after winning the show.
Luke’s axe means that the 2013 series of X Factor failed to find any successful talent, as Sam was dropped by Syco in February while Nicholas originally also signed to Sony only to be dropped months later.
