Big Brother Australia returned for its second week on Sunday night with Big Brother’s “surprise week”, leading to frights and almighty nominations challenge twist.
One of the main dramas of the episode is when Tilly eats a mouthful of chick peas that she claims she mistaken for cereal. This later angers SJ but I’ll get to that in just a little bit.
“A lot of people think I’m a dumb blonde,” she says before eating a spoonful. “But I’m actually smart.”
Why do I feel you’re not that smart, love?
Later in the show, Big Brother surprises the housemates with a nomination challenge twist. The house is split into two teams and the winning group gets to nominate three people from the losing team to go up for eviction. Daniel’s side is blue while Katie’s side is red and this time, Daniel’s group wins and is safe from eviction.

With half the house immune and in the Diary Room, the discussions begin. As you might expect, Daniel takes control of the talks and chooses to keep Mary safe because she cooks and you can’t get rid of the house mum this early. Michael is also nominated as is Tilly.
And this is where SJ comes in. She is annoyed Tilly was trying to roast the chickpeas before burning most of them.
“Because she used all the chickpeas and, as a vegetarian vegan person I did not have anymore protein to eat in this house,” SJ tells Big Brother.
Christopher tells this to Tilly in the bathroom, leading to Tilly confronting SJ about it just moments later in the kitchen.
“SJ! Why was I put up? (Because of) Lentils? You’re upset about the chickpeas?” she says. “If I go home because I burnt some chickpeas. I burnt some chickpeas and now I’m going home!”
Host Sonia Kruger returns to get the eviction proceedings started. Sonia asks the housemates why Tilly has been nominated but the housemates say its nothing she’s personally done wrong.
Tilly givens a emotional plea that I thought would keep her safe in a landslide but boy, was I wrong about that one.
“Obviously, it’s sh*t,” Tilly says in a response to a question from Sonia. “My whole life … people look at me … like … I don’t know … I just look a bit stupid … and I always do everything wrong.”
The house goes to vote and Sonia reveals Michael was evicted on a 9-8 vote with Mary getting zero votes to evict.
Big Brother Australia continues Monday night at 7:30 PM on Channel 7.
