Big Brother host Emma Willis revealed she “didn’t know” some of the housemates were stars on other reality TV shows.
The new series of Big Brother launched with fans outraged that many of the housemates have appeared elsewhere.
Chanelle McCleary, Kieran Lee and Kayleigh Morris all appeared on MTV’s Ex on the Beach, Ellie Young was a rep on Ibiza Weekender, Arthur Fulford appeared on The F**king Fulfords and Life Is Toff whilst Dreamboy Lotan Carter was on Pineapple Dance Studios.
Emma Willis has since spoke out on the controversy, telling The Daily Mail: “I didn’t even know they were on Ex On The Beach,”
Adding: “But I guess it will make for a great rest of the show.
“They’re all friends in the first two days, but within a week they’ll all be fighting! The cast are fantastic. They really are a true reflection of society in Britain.
“Obviously, they wanted an election theme. And we have working class people, upper class people. People from all walks of life. It’s not just about delivering the shock factor this time.”
Emma also revealed she had no clue at all who was taking part.
“It’s become super secretive these days,” she added. “Previously I would know weeks in advance, but not now. In fact I didn’t even see all the VTs [of the housemates] until launch night!”
Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
