Hollyoaks is known for being kind to the eyes, and a brand new casting is proving no exception.
Reality Box can report that Doctor Who and Byker Grove star Andrew Hayden-Smith has been cast as the buff police detective brought in to solve the case of Patrick Blake’s death.
Oh, and yes… he’ll be in uniform. SWOON.
In case you need a recap, earlier in the year, Patrick was murdered by his granddaughter Nico Blake, with Maxine Minniver and Darren Osborne hiding his body in the city wall.
However, no one so far has revealed what happened on the night, after Patrick had previously asked his wife Maxine to help him to commit suicide as he was terminally ill with motor neurone disease.
But, in the last moment he decided to change his mind after realising that Maxine still felt love for him.
But when Nico overheard via the baby monitor that Patrick had sent a DVD to Ben Bradley containing the revelation that she killed Carly Bradley, the plot to murder began!
Nico placed a pillow over Patrick’s face and ended his life after coolly revealing that she had already picked out an outfit for his funeral!
Andrew Hayden-Smith’s character, DS Armstrong hits screens next month to try to crack the case, re-opening the investigation.
His on-screen debut as DS Armstrong will be on E4 on Tuesday 14th June.
Talking about his new role, Andrew said “I am over the moon; I have watched Hollyoaks since it began so to be here in the village is surreal.
“It is a dream job to be thrown in to the heart of such a gritty storyline and I am looking forward to having the villagers quaking in their boots.”
Will Detective Armstrong’s arrival see Maxine and Darren end up behind bars? Even if it doesn’t… it’s a perfect chance to see another buff bod on our screens, eh!
