The BBC has revealed that Lauren and Abi Branning are being written out of EastEnders after 7 and 11 years on the show, respectively.
Sourced teased earlier in the week that their exit could be linked to a big Christmas storyline.
A show spokesman revealed: “We can confirm that Jacqueline and Lorna will be leaving EastEnders.
“They have both been wonderful to work with and we wish them all the best for the future.”
Their exit is expected to bring Max’s revenge storyline to a head, with Jane Beale recently finding out about Max’s evil plan while Abi is currently pregnant with Lauren’s fiancé’s Steven Beale’s baby.
The news comes after the show announced Steven himself would also be leaving the show.
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
