YouTube star Jack Maynard has only been in the jungle for less than 24 hours, but he’s already caused a stir on the outside.
In old tweets which have been circulated, the vlogger used gay slurs, and the n-word, plus a number of other offensive phrases.
Being an internet star, you would have thought the video maker would check his tweets for anything that could bite him.
However as he entered the jungle last night, a number of messages became re-circulating on social including: ‘You know who I find annoying? Bloody French people.’
In other slurs, he called Twitter users ‘retarded’ and called one person ‘deluded moron’.
In another he wrote: ‘hahaha shutup you f****t… By the way who hit you with a shovel?’
The tweets were quickly deleted by Jack’s management after the news broke, having all been sent between 2011 and 2013.
In a statement, a representative for Jack said: ‘Jack is ashamed of these tweets, many were deleted a long time ago.’
‘He would never use that language now and realises this kind of retaliatory, inflammatory, insulting language is completely unacceptable,’ the statement went on.
An ITV spokeswoman also responded to The Sun, saying: ‘Jack has issued a full apology and has deleted the tweets that he sent.’
I’m A Celebrity airs weeknights on ITV at 9pm.
