It looks like there could be more lovers trying their luck this summer to win a big chunk of money!
Love Island could be returning to ITV2, after being ‘mauled’ by critics, for it’s lacklustre reboot run. The show originally started as a celebrity series on ITV back in 2005 but made a comeback last year with a new format, with civilians.
Trying to grab some of Big Brother’s audience, the show gained around an average of under one million viewers a night, hosted by Caroline Flack live from Spain.
However, a source told the RadioTimes.com: “Initial casting is already underway.”
The show sees 12 contestants set up as couples in a villa on the island of Mallorca for six weeks with tasks and twists throughout.
It is also ‘expected’ to be hosted by Caroline Flack again, after the presenter missed a number of X Factor audition shows to film the live results of public votes on the island.
ITV has so far refused to comment on the future of the revamped show.
