David Walliams has found his inner Adele, taking on her worldwide hit, ‘Hello’ on the premiere of Lip Sync Battle UK.
The comedian will be taking on fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon when the show launches on Channel 5 tonight.
In a teaser, the comedian takes on ‘Hello’ and even busts out Adele’s flip phone as used in the video.
During the show Alesha Dixon takes on Skepta’s ‘Shut Down’, while Walliams also tries Missy Elliott’s ‘Work It’.
The show, hosted by Spice Girl Mel B and rapper Professor Green is being launched in-between the first Celebrity Big Brother eviction.
“It’s great to be asked to present this show. Who doesn’t love letting out their inner diva?” Mel B said earlier in the year.
“The US version has me in fits of laughter and I can’t wait to see the UK show contestants give it their all. I’ll be sure to keep everyone in line.”
Stephen Merchant, John Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt came up with the original idea for a lip synching segment on American TV show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which was then picked up by US channel Spike.
Steve Regan, Channel 5’s commissioning editor of entertainment, said: “When looking for top talent, you don’t get much bigger than Mel B.
“Mel has attitude, experience and unmistakable swagger, all vital ingredients for this high-energy show.
“She is the perfect fit and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board. If you thought the US series got gutsy, watch out world – the Brits are coming.”
Hosted by Mel B and Professor Green, Lip Sync Battle UK launches tonight on Channel 5 tomorrow at 10pm.
