Scream is officially returning to MTV for a third season, but expect the horror series to look very different when it hits our screens.
The network confirmed the show will return for six episodes with both a new cast and a location. Additionally, it was also announced new faces in will be in charge of taking the show in a new direction.
Actress and rapper Queen Latifah will step in as executive producer along side Shakim Conpere and Yaneley Arty as part of Latifah’s production company Flavor Unit Entertainment.
In addition to the producers, Brett Matthews has been named the new show runner. Matthews credits include The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.
The revamp comes after ratings for season two brought in an average of 377,000 viewers, down more than half of what it was in season one. MTV renewed the horror franchise for a six episode third season back in October.
Scream returns to MTV for season three later this year.
