Are The Vamps about the sex up their image? Well… kinda!
There’s a ‘sexually suggestive bacon lyric’ on The Vamps’ new single and apparently they’re not sure how it made it to radio.
The single, ‘I Found A Girl’, tells the story of falling for a girl who turns out to be into girls. Oh, haven’t we all done that!
Band member James McVey revealed in an interview that there’s more to the lyric than only their US fans might understand. The lyric goes, “I made a move, she said ‘Baby you’re mistaken, I’m not into bacon,”
“I think it’s quite an American thing. A lot of people don’t know that it says that. When we’ve got it on the radio they never question it and think it’s a bit inappropriate, so we’re quite lucky we got away with it really.”
However, before fans get too offended by the song lyrics, James revealed that the lyrics are based on a real life experience.
“It’s a concept that happened to one of us but we embellished it and exaggerated it in the song. It was never a relationship where she went off with anyone or anything,” he explained.

“One of us started liking someone and then she said ‘No, I like girls.’ It wasn’t great. Friend-zoned to the max.
“We’re not saying that there’s anything wrong with it. That’s where I would think someone was being inappropriate, if they were saying that and that it’s bad. For us it was just a bit of fun.
“It’s a funny thing for us and we’re not trying to be controversial and say that it’s wrong. We’re just finding it funny that it happened to one of us.”
The Vamps’ begin their UK tour in Birmingham on March 25.
