X Factor 2017 UK winners Rak-Su have revealed that producers of the show warned them not to perform their original music as it was seen as a risk.
They received the warning before the first audition as they prepared to sing in front of Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louie Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger.
The staff were kind of like, ‘Okay if that’s what you really want to do – it’s a risk but fine,'” revealed Ashley on ITV’s Lorraine this morning.
“I think for us, it was a case of we knew who we wanted to be and we knew who we were before going on to the show. Originally, we just saw it as an opportunity to get some good exposure for ourselves. We didn’t know it would go this far.”
The group did take onboard the producers advice and sang ‘Justin Timberlake – Señorita’, however Simon Cowell halted the audition and asked Rak-Su if there was any other matieral which they could perform.
This gave Rak-Su the perfect opportunity to sing their original song – ‘I’m Feeling You’.
