Whilst the USA series of the X Factor lasted three series and ended as quickly as the careers of those who appeared on the show, the UK series is still a phenomenon and has a pretty good track record of starting successful and long lasting careers.
Artist’s such as One Direction, Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, Ella Henderson, Union J, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd and Little Mix have all had success with their start on Simon Cowell’s baby the X Factor.
AXS TV has renewed The X Factor UK to air on USA TV for a second year. I’m not trying to throw shade but I had to Google to find out the channel number, and to double check I even received it. By the way… channel 340 if you have Direct TV.
The episodes will air 24 hours after the premiere in the UK. Simon Cowell told Piers Morgan in an interview that Fox gave up too early on the show.
The very blunt judge also said in the interview, “The one thing I do know is the music business. X Factor is the best music format in the world … So I haven’t given up on X Factor America yet.”
A rep at AXS TV said, “American viewers have embraced this (UK) series, as last season’s dramatic storylines and eliminations led to significant increases in engagement each week.”
The X Factor UK starts in the fall so you have a few months to figure out what channel AXS TV is for you.
